Import an Exceltable back into AutoCAD

Hello,

I've got the Problem that i want to import an Exceltable wich i exportet via the Command DATAECTRACT.

I want to change many Names of Parts in my CADplan. So i want to export the datas with the names, change them and then reimport them so the names get changed in my CADplan.

I dont want to search every single name and change it per hand in the CADPlan. I've managed to write an makro in Excel to exchange huge lists of names in an Exceldocument. So i want to go the steps from  CAD to Excel and back to CAD.

greetings Sebastian

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

A DATAEXTRACTION will not give you this bi-directional type of capability.  Perhaps you can get this to work using an ATTIN and ATTOUT.  This set of command would let you write your attribute values to a TXT  file along with their handles so that when you modify the attribute value, you can bring it back into the drawing and the appropriate attribute(s) will get updated based on their Handles.

You might also find some utilities or add-ins in the Autodesk App Store that would allow some of this functionality.

Thank you for your fast answer @john.vellek.

The command ATTOUT doesnt get any Objects when i mark the whole Plan. So it doenst allow me to save the .txt. Do i need to write those names in a special format or do i need to mark them in a special way. ?

The names are in the CAD-Plan as MText.

greetings

Sebastian

Hi @Anonymous,

These command will only work with attributes.  Is it possible to share a sample file so i can get a closer look at what you are trying to do?  Will a FIND not help you  to do some of this?

Hi @john.vellek,

The problem with giving you the samplefile is, that it is an file from an customer so i am not allowed to hand it out to a third person. And even if i declare the name as attribut via Layout>Block > declare Attribute it doesnt allow me to mark it if i type the command ATTOUT.

Attout/Attin is only for attributes which attached on blockreferences, no MText, no attributdefinition(attdef/Layout>Block > declare Attribute).

If you want to export/import TEXT, you need a extra program.
Search engine, autocad export import text

Sample hit:

But you will find more..

Hi @Anonymous,

I don't need all of the drawing.  Erase 98% of the contents leaving just enough that I can see with which you are dealing.

Teste dieses mal, mußt deine Exceldaten nur in die entsprechende Form im *.txt Format bringen.
