What are you printing to? printer? PDF?
Have you tried setting IMAGEFRAME to 1
Is this isolated to one particular image?
Or is the problem with other images as weel?

we've just upgraded from an older version of AutoCad. the setting seems completely random on different drawings, at different times with frames set to (2), it will sometimes not display the frame, but you can still select it, sometimes it will display the frame and not print it, and sometimes it will display the frame and print it.
we're printing to a printer - haven't tried it exporting to pdf yet. the first image i noticed it with was our logo in our title block/border, which is inserted as a block. haven't tried it yet with raster images in the actual drawing.
we do use a fair number of raster images in our drawings, and i was hoping this would save us from having to keep turning image frames on & off.
after a bit of investigation, it appears that autocad won't save a frame setting of 2. i can change the frame setting to 2, save and close the drawing, but when i open it, the frame setting has changed back to 3. it will save setting 0 and 1, but it will change 2 to 3.
we still have one station running autocad 2010, so we are saving all drawings as 2010, could this be the cause of the problem?

IMAGEFRAME is a system variable so it should not change settings when closing and opening a file, unless you have a routine running that resets the variable. (this is regardless of 2010 or 2015)
I would try printing or export to PDF to see if the same problem occurs.

P.s. check your OLEFRAME setting as well.

isn't the frame variable supposed to change all the frame settings? we don't use OLE objects, only raster images, xrefs, & the occasion pdf.

I mentioned the OLEFRAME because it depends on how the logo was inserted.
