I cant type distance of lines, ...

Hi, i am student and I have to work on some school projects but i cant cause it doesnt let me type numbers when i am drawing. For example i want to make a line that is long 1000. Under normal conditions i would click where i want to have a start of the line, choose direction of it and then type the number 1000. But i cant, it doesnt let me. Pls help, i dont have much time.

What does "it won't let me" mean?  What do you see when you type?  Are you using the number keypad typically at the right end of a keyboard, but without NumLock on?  Does it work if you use the number keys across the top instead?

I just cant type anything. I tried to use both of the numpads (with numlock on) and nothing happened. I tried to reinstall and update the program but nothing changed. But thanks. 😞

Are you on a laptop?
Most have a special button you need to press in order to press the correct keys/functions.

Otherwise you need I.T./tech support, doesn't sound like an AutoCAD problem.
