I want to show where two plates overlap a few inches by having the edge of the bottom plate shown in my layout as a hidden line. I drew 4'x7'x1/8" boxes to model these plates, and have tried various visual style settings. Is there an approach you would recommend? Unfortunately I am not allowed to share an example of my drawing so I have tried to frame my problem as simply as I can.

Modify the Hidden visualstyle to show Occuluded Edges with a Dashed Linetype.
I will accept as a solution to help others and because I was not more clear in my post. I tried this, however these plates are part of a larger assembly for which I do not want to show occluded edges.
