How to Print AutoCad Files without Opening

I would like to print multiple Autocad files without opening. I noticed if you right click on the file and hit print, it pops up an error saying "System DDE requests cannot be processed when no drawings are open. Try opening a drawing first." I have attached a picture of the error as well.

Any Gurus know of a way to bypass this error and print directly from the folder? Thanks a million.

Good day

Initially, I thought this is not possible, but I went and had a look anyway... I was shocked to see that you can actually do this.

This is done with Adobe Acrobat:

Hold down the Shift key to select multiple AutoCAD files. Next, right-mouse click and then select Combine supported files in Acrobat from the contextual menu. This will bring up the Combine Dialogue box and allow you to rearrange the DWG files, and even select which layouts you want to add to your PDF.

Here is the link to Acrobats Tutorials: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/creating-pdfs-autocad-dwg-files-without-autocad

I am not sure if it's still a valid method though, but other than this I don't think it's possible.

Hi,

maybe it's hard and difficult (as i know) to print non opened autocad files. i'll give some hints that it could help :

  • already prepared plt files with external plug-in tool.... you can achieve that.
  • other way (with opening autocad) you must have already prepared page setup then with PUBLISH command you can achieve it.
