Hello,

if I want to open a new empty drawing, a popup always show and asks what template I want.

How can I open a blank drawing?

right of [Open] is a small menu, open it

and you can start a new drawing for metric system, or for imperial/british system.

But I guess you want another thing.

You like to use a template, but you don't like to select a template file every single time, or?

Create your own template, or use the acad.dwt (for imperial) or acadiso.dwt for metric drawings

and set this template as QNEW

Options/Files/Template...... QNEW

And from now QNEW using this template for a new file.

No, 99% of the time I open a template. But for now I need to make some new blocks and I like to start with an empty drawing. But I don't know how...

ctrl+n and quite fast after that enter opens, without the popup screen, the last used template. Nowadays Autocad is unable to keep up when you work fast so the popup is not showing at all.

This is due to the neverending slowing down after R2004

I think you get the same result if you WBlock from any drawing. AutoCAD automatically uses a "blank" template.
