How to locate and keep center point of circle or arc visible

This one has been frustrating me for some time. I need to find and pick the center point of an arc or circle so I hover the cursor over the object. The center point X pops up and is briefly visible but when I move the cursor to select that point it disappears. If I click on the arc or circle the same thing happens. So is there a setting that can be turned on so I can keep that center point visible to use to draw from?

One of the things I do in selecting the centre of an Arc or Circle is to use the "CEN + Enter" feature.

As an example, if I want to say draw a line from the centre of an Arc or Circle, I start the line command i.e. "L+enter" and hover on the edge of the circle then type "cen+enter" . It selects the centre of the circle to start the line.

You don't even need to be able to see the centre of the Arc or Circle with this method.

This save on time having to zoom in and out to see the actual centre.
