How to edit a dimension and have the alternate units update - AutoCAD 2024

I am using AutoCAD 2024. I have the dimension system setup so that when I dimension something, it provides alternate dimensions below it - allowing me to dimension drawings in both millimeters and inches at the same time. However, a lot of drawings that I work on are for quick quality checks which often aren't drawn to scale, meaning I have to double click and edit the dimensions. The issue is when I double click on a dimension and type in a new value, it deletes both the original and alternate dimension. Is there a way to edit a dimension, type in a new value, and have the alternate dimension update rather than deleting itself?

Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like the alternate below is just typed in text as well.

Since AutoCAD associative dimensions uses this "<>" to call the exact measured dimension string for both primary & alternate then when you edit the dimension value it'll replace the "<>" designation wiping out both primary & alternate. So if you modify it then you would have to manually replace both.
