How to create warm lights

Hello,

 

could someone explain to me how to create such warm looking lights like in the attached picture?

I also attached my work so far. I am not happy with the lighting.

first: wow, that is really great, that similarity between reality and rendered image, great!

It depends which version of AutoCAD you have and which type of light you are using.

 

If you are using AutoCAD 2017 and for the vertical cylinder you have chosen a material using self-illumination you can chose the color temperature to adjust how "warm" a light looks like.

Check for exposure settings, specifically "white point".  I know that's a little vague, but I do most of my rendering in Navisworks Simulate.

 

You should also investigate "photo shopping" your images post-render.  You can do color correction there to make images warmer, colder, more vibrant, and so on.  And typically much easier and faster than the typical render/adjust/render sequence.

I use 2017 and something called "Netzlicht" (= net light?) as a light source. The problem with these temperature colors is that as soon as I change these into a yellowish tone, the rendered image looks very unrealistic. I guess I am looking for some RGB codes that you would suggest.

 

Oh, and thanks for your kind words about it being close to the original.

I do not think I know what you mean with "white point" exposure settings. I have to take a deeper look into this and hope that I can find it in my German version of the program.

 

As for "photo shopping", I guess that would be a good work around, but not how I want to end this project. PS is something I want to use as a last option, when rendering does not work the way I want it to.

I tried to delete the light source element, which was placed behind a glass like it would have been in real life.
Then I gave the glass a self-illumination effect, but the resulting light and its shadows looked not as realistic as the "Netzlicht" I used before.

 

Is there a good tutorial you could recommend? Maybe a video tutorial? The ones I found on Youtube are not really that good or for an older version of AutoCAD.

Sorry, I don't know any tutorial for rendering with AutoCAD. Most people doing rendering like you are using products like 3DS-Max or so which gives you much better control.

I changed the light sources according to your suggestion and used the standard settings for a light bulb.

 

I attached the result. Thanks.
