how to create views for layout tabs

im not very experienced with autocad, i mostly use revit. i want to create zoomed views of sections of the drawing for a presentation, i know you can and then you put them on layout tabs but i just haven't a clue how to do that.

VPORTS command [but it's not "...created zoomed views ... and then you put them..." -- rather, you make the Viewport(s) first, and then you Zoom/etc. to get the views you want in them].
