How to create instances in Autocad 2016

Wanted to create instances drawing which are derived from one common drawing in AutoCAD 2016.

For Example in Solidworks we have option to create instances in Configuration manager.

What is the Autocad 2016 command equvialnt to solidworks configuration?

Check out  XREfs they support the general concept of instancing but perhaps in a different manner than Solidworks.
