How to count blocks in a layer on paper space within a viewport

Hello!

I want to know if is possible to insert a field linked with the viewport, on paperspace, that counts the blocks in a specific layer.

I need to make this manually and its a lot of work, I need to filter the blocks, get the count and type it. And, sometimes, there are so many layouts.

On the image there are the indication of what I need, but doesnt know how to do. The blocks are on modelspace.

Type BCOUNT in command line and press Enter. Then select the region across which you want to count number of blocks and press enter.

Though AutoCAD 2024's COUNT command will let you select an area like within a pspace Vport to get a count of all the BLOCKS, insert a Table of the results or select a specific BLOCK to insert the quantity as a FIELD, there isn't an option to filter by LAYER.

IT WOULD BE MORE HANDY TO COUNT AN AREA WITH DISPLAYED BLOCKS ONLY NOT ALL BLOCKS. I HAVE THE SAME BLOCK ON DIFFERENT LAYERS FOR DIFFERENT PLANTING AREAS AND I NEED TO COUNT THEM AND PUT IN SEPARATE LEGENDS BASED ON THE LAYER THEY ARE ON. THIS COUNT COMMAND IS NOT HELPFUL FOR THIS NEED. IT IS COUNTING ALL OF THE BLOCKS NO MATTER WHAT LAYER THEY'RE ON. I THOUGHT I COULD SET A RULE UP BUT THAT DOESNT SEEM TO WORK. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE THIS WORK?

You can freeze layers you don't want to include in your counts area.

I did have the ones I dont want frozen - it still counts all within the window. Should I be using another command than COUNT?

I do

COUNT

WINDOW

It counts everything frozen or not in the window.

I am not able to replicate that here with my own blocks in my own files

Can you share your DWG file and point to the area in question?
