How to change the width of a text

Hi,

I would like to know how I can change the width of the annotative texts on my drawing. I have attached a screenshot that shows two texts with the same heights but different widths. I used the command line MA to match the properties of the arrows in the picture but it only matches the height. I'm using AutoCAD 2016 on Windows 10.

Thanks

You can controle text width by text STYLE, or individual for each item:

For Text, select text object and change width in properties palette CTRL+1,

but in your Picture it is a MText ( / dimension Text), so use TEXTEDIT and set the internal format for width

Hi,

Thank you for your help. I was able to successfully change the width of my text; however, there are many other texts on my current drawing that I want to change the width. Is there a way to simultaneously change the width of every text in my drawing?

Thanks

Hey,

I will echo what has been said in the above post.

The text styles for the two are different. Marching properties doesn't match the style. You therefore have to change the text for the dimension. One of the texts is isocp.shx if am not wrong.

You can do this by going to the annotate tab, open the dialogue launcher and change the above mentioned from there.

If you'll need further assistance I can make a screencset for you.

In the STYLE command you can change the

  Width Factor:

for every Style you want thus affected.

Hey @tchamgou,

Sorry for taking long to reply to your post. I've made a screencast for you.

Ive basically created 2 text styles. One using isocp.shx and iso.shx, I then assigned one text style to one dimension and the other text style to the other dimension.

I believe the text width remained the same but the spacing for the individual characters was the one that changed. I don't know if this is exactly what you were looking for, but I have agree with the posts by @Kent1Cooper

Hope this gives another perspective for the same.
