Hello,
I would like to ask anybody if there is some possibility how to change "insertion point of dimension".
To better understand:
When I want to create dimension for my projected object there is more dimensions inserted.
For example first dimension line is to capture windows, doors, etc.
Second dimension line is to capture corners of building and the last one is to capture entire lenght of building.
What I need:
I need to have exact space (5,8) between this dimension lines.
How I do it:
I create dimension, then I insert it whenever is possible near to the place I need to have this dimension and the last step is to manually move the dimension to exact space/point.
What I want to do it like:
I would like to change point of insertion when insert dimension line to have an option to place it immediatelly to the exact place and remove the step when I have to manually move every single dimension line.
To better represent I attach video below.
Thank you for your advices.
Draw some Xlines spaced at 5,8 and then pick those lines when placing dimensions.
Ok, you can imagine I was able to find out this way...
However if my building is not so simple as in the video I posted, instead of that it has 22 corners, which means I will have dimension lines in 22 different ways and every single corner needs to have 3-4 dimension lines as I mentiuoned above (for windows, for entire lenght, etc.) I will have to create many xlines first and then create dimensions.
That is the reason I do not want to use "auxiliary aditional lines" but I would like to exactly change the point of insertion. So the insertion point would be on the top of the extension line instead of main dimension line.
What about DIMDLI ?

Because you could choose to select a dim in DIMBASELINE command (ENTER at the beginning of the process) and it would set accordingly with DIMDLI from the selected already drawn dim...
And what about the DIMSPACE command ? You could also use that feature
Use the GRID. Set it 5,8x5,8, possibly adjust the origin by UCS setting, then control the SNAPMODE by F9.
