How to Change a multi line element from one mlstyle to another?

Hai everyone!

Please help me to resolve the following.

I have a multilines in my DWG with the mlstyle name of UB305. I want to change this mline with mlstyle name UB203.

I knew that this is not working in acad foreground. Is there any solution resolve this from background? If the answer is yes, then the mline would have been used to greater extent for our projects.

That's the problem with MultiLines. Once they are created, the style is not editable. You also cannot have curves around corners. I feel they could be used more if they operated similarly to Polylines.

Hello from France

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !

1) MLINEs have been introduced with ACAD R13 ...

2) Autodesk has not (unfortunateley) improved MLINEs since a very long time ago ...

3) So to change the Style of N selected MLINEs , you must have a Lisp/VLisp routine !

4) Gilles (gile) a french developper has written a nice routine CMLS to do the job !!

---> So THANKS to Gilles ...

Hello from France

1) With CMLS routine you can change MLine Styles ...

Please don't forget to adjust AFTER the MLine Scale (Property) because it is reseted to ZERO by CMLS !

2) With CMLS, I often am using a other french routine : PO2ML

This routine (from Bruno - an other french developper) transforms N PLines to N MLines (Current Style) ...

( Of course PO2ML can transform PLines with segments ONLY )

Please don't forget to adjust AFTER the MLine Scale (Property) because it is reseted to ZERO by PO2ML !

---> So THANKS to Bruno ...

Please let me know if these 2 routines are doing the job on ACAD 2016/2015 ??

Patrice,

I tested your CMLS routine in Autocad 2015, but unfortunately it is not working...

I get VVC:internal error after choosing the new Mline style. do you have any idea what causes this error?

Any way to maybe easily fix it? Would be super! I have been looking for this kind of routine, but this is the only one i could find.

Hope to hear from you!

Kim

Hello Kim

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !

1) It is not MY routine, this beautiful routine CMLS is from Gilles (gile) - A famous Lisp/VLisp/Dotnet/etc french developper ...

2) Due to new "internal" features (command / command-s) of ACAD 2015/2016/etc, this routine has to be updated for 2015/2016/etc !

3) THANKS to Gilles (gile) for its new version 2.00 ... tested on 2016/2015/2014/etc ...

Regards, Patrice
