How to align multiple points to snap in 1 point.

I have made some schematic drawings and even with snapping activated I have some lines nearly parallel at small distance between them. When zoomed out they seem to be one line but when zoomed in you can see they are many not aligned on one or both ends.

Is there another way to align them to 1 line than manually moving both ends of all the lines to the one chosen (or added) as reference ?

If I could select all the chosen lines and force all the points of one end to snap into reference  point then all the points of the other end to snap into the other reference point then I would be grateful.

I think that its the Nearest Object Snap which is responsible for this unwanted misalignment.

Is there a way to have it activated/deactivated with a keyboard shortcut ?

Thanks

Hellow and welcome to the forums.

What version of AutoCAD are you using?

are the line properties the same? start X and end x and start y and end y etc..

Attach a snapshot of the problem or the actual drawing sure helps the readers.

Could You attach a sample drawing? It will help to understand the question.

For now You could turn off nearest snap. Use OS tick endpoint and other snap modes which You need. Turn on/off osnaps by pressing F3 key.

Have You also tried to draw with ortho on? Hit F8 button on keyboard.

This may be what you are after.  First, set Ortho to on.  Start the Change command, pick the horizontal lines, set the osnap perp and select the vertical line.  Repeat for the other side.  If the lines are further apart horizontally than they are wide then you will need to do this several times, you will see what I mean as you try this out.

This is what the CHANGE command is good for.  With Ortho off, call up CHANGE, collectively select all the Lines [you can even include the reference Line itself in your description -- it will remain unCHANGEd by this process], and when it asks for a change point, Osnap to the desired reference point [ENDpoint of the reference Line in your description].  Do the same at the other end.

I agree wholeheartedly -- in fact, I would go so far as to say not just for now, but forever you should turn off NEArest object snap.  There are very few circumstances under which NEArest is not going to "win out" over all other running Osnap modes, so having it set as a running mode is almost guaranteed to yield undesired results a lot of the time.  Call for it as a one-shot mode only when needed.
