How to add a new symbol into the text editor dropdown list in AutoCAD

I found this below link explaining how to add new symbol into the AutoCAD text editor.

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-add-a-new-s...

I have followed the instructions and my regedit corresponds to what is notified but the Text doesn't appear in my AutoCAD.  Does anyone know why?

I export "symbols.reg" and it looks like :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R24.1\ACAD-5101:409\MTEXT\Symbols]
"Name 1"="greater than and equal to"
"Contents 1"=" \\U+2265"
"Name 2"="less than and equal to"
"Contents 2"=" \\U+2264"

What version of AutoCAD are you using? Do you have more than one version installed? You need to make sure that you add the key to the right place in the registry. Please post a screen capture like the one shown in step 4 of the solution you linked to.

edit: I just noticed that you have two backslashes for the keystrokes. You just need one.

It looks like the registry entries only work while using the MTEXTTOOLBAR.

I've always used a modified version of https://jtbworld.com/autocad-personalmtextsymbols-lsp.

Easy to run once on other users workstations to add them to the Windows Registry. Quickly being able to add the name and license number of any of our engineers is handy as well.

Assuming you are able to get this working to your liking, I would recommend changing the word "and" to "or" in the code below:

Thank a lot for your answers

In the end, it works, but only partially.

It doesn't work in Ribbon @, but if you right-click and select symbol, you'll see them.symbol.png

Does using it work? Because you had two backslashes, unless you fixed it. Also, as @dmfrazier pointed out, the correct name is Less Than Or Equal. It's impossible for a number to be less than AND equal to another number.
