How do you set the MTEXT editor background color in Autocad 2015

Does anyone know how to set the MTEXT editor background color in AutoCAD 2015? Not Back ground mask, but the background color itself. I looked under the colors tab in "options" but I could not find it.

Thanks

Are you talking about the highlight color once you select some text in the text editor? If so, select some text, right click>Editor Settings>Text Hightlight Color.

No, the background color, such like setting Modelspace background and Paperspace background colors.

What exactly are you wishing to do or what problem are you trying to fix? Spell it out, perhaps what you are looking for is not what you want to do. MTEXT only has background mask color option, so you obviously think something else is going on... .

You can't change the background color of the mtext editior.

For the most part it takes on the background color of the models space.

E.g. black model space background, kinda black mtext editor background.

White model space background, kinda white mtext editor background.

Here are two screen shots. The Model Space background is black, and the MTEXT Editor background color is acceptable. However, in Paper Space is where I have an issue. I changed the background to a medium dark blue, and the MTEXT Editor background color is a washed out grey color. when text is on a layer that has a light color, its hard to read.

Yes, I know I could change the color of the layer. I don't want to change standards across the board yet.

Thanks.

When you start editing mtext in formatting tab click on "Background mask" (cube with dashes with letter A in it).

Check  "Use background mask" and select color from dropdown list.

That is a work around, but it also defeats the purpose. You would have to set it to "on" each time to edit the text or mtext, then set it back to "off" so it would not show the background mask.

I think I found a solution:

While in MTEXT editor, right click and get the sub menu.

Select "Editor Settings", then un-check "Show Background".

This solved my problem. Now, is there a system variable that controls this?

What if you move away from the BLUE paperspace background? That's an unusual color for most of us. Beats the heck out this 'workaround'.

GREETZ ~

My .02: I changed the background to 'true color' (255,255,255) for white / color 7.

I've solved this issue.

Double click to edit the MText, then click with mouse rigth button.

Go to "background transparency".

Select "semitransparent" or "transparent"

Doesnt change the color, but solve the issue.

You can only set the text highlight, and text colours themselves. The most you can do with the editor background is: on or off, and if you enable hardware acceleration, you can make the Mtext editor background transparent.
