How do I get a Section Plane (multiple angles) using a Point Cloud

I have a Point Cloud CAD file here, and I'm trying to find the easiet way to get a Section Plane. Am I correct in thinking I need a Planar Surface to generate this Section Plane? And if so, then how do I generate a Planar Surface which follows the meandering tunnel in this Point Cloud?

Aren't Planar Surfaces a simple flat 3D editable surface? What if your road/tunnel has kinks and bends in it, and you want to generate an entire long section of the whole thing using Section Plane?

Note: AutoCAD 2014 version, standard, not 3D Civil/Map 3D.

I don't think a section plane works with point clouds, but section planes cannot be made meandering.

Don't you just want to crop the point cloud?  in the top view, use the pointcloudcrop (or something like it) to crop to show just the region you want.

If you want to work with solids, there are some workaround techniques to effectively create a meandering slice.

Crop is handy, thanks. I would like to ability to section out a meandering part of the Point Cloud as well. The Section Plane seems to have the option to 'jog' or step along a section plane, which is what I'm interested in doing to a Point Cloud, but I am understanding now that a Section Plane does not affect a Point Cloud.

Point Clouds are new to me, so I might be asking some basic questions as I learn.

I'm not sure cropping the Point Cloud works in the Z plane by the way, command 'POINTCLOUDCLIP' (note: I don't seem to have the POINTCLOUDCROP command).

What if I want a vertical elongated section of the Point Cloud, and not a horizontal cut off?!

See attached pic. I don't want a clipped rectangle, I want a side elevation slice/view of the Point Cloud. Maybe I'm limited with AutoCAD 2014?
