hesitation/pausing after server upgrade

After our company upgraded servers, AutoCAD 2014 has been hesitating when moving between different functions -- i.e. there may be a 20-second delay after clicking the file/open button before the machine becomes responsive.  Once in design mode, it works fine until I switch to another function like printing, where I may get another hesitation.

Coworker seemed to think this was something they'd seen before, and that it was tied to the printer port -- that ACAD was hesitating in looking for the old location, even if it was with non-printing-related functions.  I have not found the ability to change the printer port in PC3 settings (it's grayed out), although it looks to me as if the IP address of the printer is correct.

I've tried creating a new PC3 configuration, with no effect, and have tried temporarily removing all of the old PC3 files and restarting, with no effect.  I'm wondering if it is not printer port related.  Two other coworkers are on ACAD 2000, I'm the only one in 2014.

We're directory-based with 3D and 2D files on 2 server directories, but I believe the settings are local to my computer.

Any thoughts on what could be causing occasional lagging after the server replacement?  Basically it was new server hardware, but a clone of the old, with a new server address.

>>>... what could be causing occasional lagging...<<<
Occasional? There is no fix for that, can you be more specific or is it ALWAYS when plotting using those PC3 files nd nothing else?

Your "new server addresses" are returning errors to your PC, the slowness is your OS trying to resolve those issues.

Unplug from the network as a test: do the slowness issues go away?

Thanks for the reply.  ProE and everything else has worked perfectly on my computer since the server upgrade.  The hesitation is only within AutoCAD.  Unfortunately I can't disconnect from the server and try it since that's where all my files are. 🙂  After the server upgrade, the only thing I had to do on my computer was change the printer location in Windows Control Panel, and it seems that even when I configure a new PC3 it shows the printer's IP address correctly.  The AutoCAD Print window is even showing the correct IP address for another printer on the network that I don't print to and don't have a PC3 for, but it's assuming the generic Windows setting.  Running Windows 10.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what AutoCAD could be looking to the server for that could be hanging AutoCAD up, and giving me the spinning blue wheel.  The printer port idea could be a boondoggle.
