Try TILEMODE 1

Then select the top of one window and drag & drop it onto the other one.

Hope this helps.

You can just hit the maximize button on either drawing window or double click the title bar of either drawing window

Hi,

>> I ended up just re-installing AutoCAD

Wow, you should think about your workstation, permissions and defragmentation (also for your registry).

Uninstalling and reinstalling and doing this a few times slows your workstation's performance. From the technical point of view this is the LAST option you should chose if something does not work as expected. You also won't buy a new car if the front left tire has lost a bit of air pressure.

It would have been one mouse click to the documents maximize symbol to bring you back. Also a maximize button should not be a miracle, at least not when you do software administration on the other side (uninstall and reinstall).

Please, first look for help before running this process.

That of course was the first thing I tried was clicking the maximise button however doing this still kept my drawing in "window view" and not in the standard view. Thanks for the help though much appreciated.👍

Then you might be in the new mode of AutoCAD 2022, where you can drag your drawing window outside the application window. If so you can move the window back into the AutoCAD application window, best to the the drawing tab (where you see "Drawing 1" in your screenshot. You would then get a rectangle showing your dwg-window is back in docking mode.

At the top left of each panel there's a viewport control option. Click on that, and then there should be an option to get to a single, maximized view.
