Helix shape into 3D

Any suggestions on this? I'd like to draw and reshape helix into 3D like this 2D pic

You will have to create a few helix's (or is that "heli"Smiley Very Happy).

They will have to be joined at a common termination point (I always try to use 0, 90, 180, or 270 degree positions).

They will form a spline when joined.

You can then create a circle for your "wire" diameter in the front or side UCS, at an endpoint.

Now you will perform a Solid Sweep of the circle along the path!

Hint: I typically make copies of my helix profiles along the way so I can play with things to get them right.

See the attached example.  Note the need for some turn height changes for smaller diameter helix's.  I played with this until I got a .175" wire that is close on the bigger helix but needs to be closer on the smaller.

The template was good ole' acad.dwt so no special stuff going on here.

Play with it and enjoy!

Blaine

Super glad it helps.
