Hatched drawings won't come into PagePlus or Coreldraw without difficulty

I have created some drawings that have quite a bit if hatches. I am able to plot them as pdf's and the pdf's open fine on their own. However, when I try and import those pdf's into either Serif PagePlus or CorelDraw they take forever to load and are very sluggish to adjust.

When I tried to import two of those drawings there were over two hundred thousand objects which would explain the difficulty.

Is there a way to plot so the pdf was one object? I know this is not a PagePlus forum but I am only having problems with autocad drawings. I can import photos, even detailed ones without difficulty. 

Is there a way to reduce the file size or number of objects?

If it would be one object it can't have different geometry types, different colors, different linetypes, ...

The only chance I see to have the whole print as one object would be to get a raster file and not vectors, but I guess that is not what you are looking for.

Hard to say how to reduce 2 lines to one line. A hatch consisting of hundreds of lines can only be reduced if you either delete the hatch or change the hatch scaling. But as long as a PDF does not know an object like "hatch" AutoCAD can only print lines.

May I ask why you go the way with PDF? Why not saving the drawing as DXF and import the DXF into CorelDraw or Illustrator?

Your hatches are too dense for those noon-cad programs: do not include them from AutoCAD, add them later in either of those programs with whatever is available in those programs.

You could also try seeking help from the support for both of the other software, this isn't really an AutoCAD issue, they might have more ideas to offer.

CorelDraw has always supported .dwg and I can bring a drawing into Corel as a .dwg. But these drawings, that I made with acad 16 came in messed up. Lines weren't right. The font was messed up. 

I tried bringing a drawing created in r14 into PagePlus and the drawing came in fine-till I applied hatches- then it wouldn't recognize the hatching. 

I've gone to the PagePlus forum and they are stumped too. They did point out there were a lot of objects in the drawings. I can import photos into PagePlus without any problems. I would have thought a pdf would slide in easily.

I would rather have a pdf but if it is not working, how could I create a raster file of a dwg?

I just imported one of these pdf's into photoshop and they came in without a problem.

use command _PLOT and assign any of the two "Publish toWeb...." devices.
