Why did they change the hatch command so that if an object is selected in advance of starting the command, it has to be reselected during the hatch command?  Previous versions (at least 2009 and prior), allowed you to select an object, enter hatch command click add selected, which eliminats 2 clicks and a lot of mouse moving from the present way of things.  Thanks, Mark

Hi bick421,

Welcome to AutoCAD Answer Day!

Normally when you select a Hatch the context ribbon "Hatch Editor" will be activated and you can add other internal points clicking on "Pick points" command and you will create additonal hatch areas with the same hatch type (or you can change the existing one to a different type).

Thanks for your post!

Thanks

The question was in regard to a new hatch, not an existing one.  Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,

So when you say "so that if an object is selected in advance" what object do you refer to? Is it a closed polyline, like a rectangle?

Unfortunately I do not have installed the very old releases, the oldest one is 2013, but I can arrange to install on my machine the 2009 release to see the difference, or maybe if you still have it installed, could you please create a short video recording with:
