Hatch Problems related to Xref

So i have spent a good part of the last two days unsuccessfully looking for a solution to my troubles. Hopefully someone can help. I work for a small company, we have one sever and 3 computers networked together. We keep our drawings on server and all work off the same files.

This all started yesterday, A coworker opened one of our drawings up and on his computer and any part of the drawings that has a clipped XREF boundary an (unwanted) gray hatch pattern will appear and must be deleted. He is using Autocad 2014, and has all the latest updates installed. If i open the same files and do not have any hatch present in the files. I cannot select a hatch pattern. Its not there. I am using Autocad 2015.  Our other computer has both 2014/2015 and hasnt had this issue.

Any ideas on how we can resolve this problem would be much appreciated!!

What changed for the user since 'yesterday'?

The only thing that changed, was the fact that this hatch shows up on his
drawings anytime there is an XREF attached. None of the other users seem to
have this problem.

Can you attach a screen capture showing the issue and also a drawing for testing? It is hard to troubleshoot something like this without seeing the issue.
