Hatch Pattern Does Not Display Correctly.

I am having a recent issue with my solid hatch patterns not displaying correctly, and can not find this problem anywhere else online. I have attached two images which display what is wrong. When I select a solid hatch, it turns into these little grey dots and I can not see any linework within the hatch. This just happened randomly one day and I can not figure out how to change it back. It happens on any CAD drawing I open.

Try DRAWORDER and send it to the back.

Thank you for your response, but that is not the issue. the linework is on top of the solid hatch and displays as it should in the second picture when it is not selected. Once I select the hatch all of the linework disappears and the solid hatch turns into the grey dots shown in the first picture.

Q: does this happen in ALL of your files with ALL of your hatches, or all hatches in this one file? or would just be quicker to replace this one hatch so it behaves as you see it in all of your other files?

BTW, without your actual DWG file it's going to be hard for anyone to dissect the problem for you: can you share it?

Is it possible that you may have changed your GRAPHICSCONFIG: 2D Display Settings to Basic Mode instead of leaving it at Advanced Mode

Better than "draworder" is the option

HPDRAWORDER (System Variable)

All hatches can be sent to the back at once.

Seems not to be the issue here, though.

The "dots" are the selection highlighting for a solid filled object [Solid Hatch, Polyline with width, etc.] when SELECTIONEFFECT is set to 0.  Try a different SELECTIONEFFECT setting -- 1 instead of 0 works for me.

Hi,

This happens on all files and all hatches. This is a solid fill hatch so should display as blue highlight when selected. Its not the the hatch or the file that is the issue, as the same file opened on another computer is displaying everything correctly. I think it is a graphics display setting but I cant figure out how to change it. It even happens on different versions of autoCAD (I have tried 2021, 2022, and 2023).

I can't even change this setting or have hardware acceleration on, does this mean my graphics card is not compatible? The strange thing is though, that up until about a week ago this issue was non-existent.

It is set to 1 and this is still how it displays.

This is all I see, and the only option I have for "2D display settings" is the "Software Mode"

yep, means your graphics card is not compatible to even offer hardware acceleration which would be why your hatch looks like that when you select it.

I have an Nvidia Quadro T2000 Graphics Card, which should be fine for CAD. I am not sure what "software Mode" is, any suggestions on how to remove this and get it to recognize my graphics card?
