Hatch & graphics card query

Hi

I'm running LT2018 and have recently got a new machine upgrade - it is an i7-7700 @ 3.6GHzith 16GB installed ram.  I'm running Windows 10 64 bit.  The graphics card is a GeForce GTX 1050Ti.  I believed this spec was fairly top end and certainly ok for my general 2D cad requirements.

What i am experiencing is that LT is very jerky when i try to use hatch patterns of all types and densities.  The screen kind of freezes and mouse movement is very jerky as I go to the area i want to hatch - certainly not smooth as i would expect!

Have i got an issue anyone else has experienced or just not got a good enough card or similar hardware based issue?  Kind of in the dark as the machine was built for me based on my need for 2D CAD and 3D Sketchup style requirements.

Any advice or guidance much appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

GRAPHICSCONFIG command to turn On or Off the material acceleration.

At very first.

Hi

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, that made things worse as affected regular line drawing. It was a bit smoother when using hatch but the overall affect was difficult to work with.

I ran the log tuner too and have attached it as a pdf to see if this helps with understanding the problem - a tad too technical for me sadly!

Thanks for your input and help.

LT2018.1.1 is the current version: is that what you have? Find out, start ABOUT command and see what you have installed.

Do you need to turn off LINEFADING and LINESMOOTHING perhaps? Some folks must do so. Or do you just need to turn off mouse roll-over highlighting over hatches

Autodesk tested graphics cards drivers are here, worth checking as well http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?siteID=123112&id=18844534

Hi

Thanks for the detailed reply and sorry for my slow acknowledgement but was out onsite all of last week.

I'm running the latest version of LT2018.  I tried the options/selection/visualeffectssettings box and hatches is unchecked in the selection preview filter pane with only objects on locked layers and Xrefs selected.

I've reviewed the graphics card and whilst the system requirements suggests it is ok It doesn't appear on the list when you follow the link you sent.  Makes me think it may just be the level of card installed then!  Bit of a pain as I specifically asked the shop to make sure the spec worked ok in the AutoCAD environment.  I'll go back to them and get them to check too.

Thanks for you great advice.

"Au contraire" !

You have to check them, to exclude them. If not, density of hatches gonna cause some freezing of your mouse mouvements if you have a lot of them with a large "area" (in accordance to density)

If the problem is not solved, the fluidity of your work can't loose from these settings.

I write and read English with no filter (lack of time).

Hope I can help even when I don't understand well cause I'm experienced in forums and know that a bit of "randomization" is sometimes welcome.

Employing French expression that I heard in some (old or not) movies guarantees me a perfect translation Smiley Tongue

"et voilà"
