When uncheking the display paper background box in options, while in plot space, the viewports stop working and dont regenerate automatically (picture below). This problem arose while changing background color.

So with it check then you don’t encounter this problem?
Does this occur in all dwgs or just this one?
What version of AutoCAD do you have installed?

With it checked I do not encounter the problem.
Not in every dwg but some.

In case it has to do with your graphics driver set Gfxdx12 to 0 and then restart AutoCAD. If still no good type command GraphicsConfig and change 2d Display Settings to another option. If still no good go back to GraphicsConfig and disable hardware acceleration

I see you have Display printable area (which is all I've ever used instead of Display paper background) checked but I don't see it displayed on your screen. Show us your plot dialog box as it's not set correctly.
