global layer color

Is there a way to change the color of a given layer for all layer states in the layer state manager? The problem is layer states seem to override changes made in the layer properties manager. Aside from undoing, is there a way to recover previous adjustments in the layer state manager after changing to a given saved layer state? Are changes made in the layer state manager basically useless if one also uses layer states?

Hi,

1. All Layers are recorded with all properties. ON/OFF is a property, COLOR and others as well!

2. Layerstate restore will restore all properties, if you say it should restore all - this is an option! For each property separate.

3. It seems you never entlarged the dialog, on the right you will see all properties and you can choose which one you want to restore!

And additional:

No, there is no ootb feature to change layerproperties for a given layer in all allready existing layerstates.

Just manually, by EDIT layerstates.

It is possible by 3rd party, but I don't have a sample link for you, sorry.

@jdfnnl I think you've asked this before: just a refresher, you alone control what LAYERSTATE command does an does not do, explore the pop-u in detail and see if any of all of these resolve your static-snapshot-restoration needs for layers
