Generating a point cloud from an AutoCAD design?

Greetings!

I wonder if someone here can help me out with an issue. I've searched different forums and also point cloud questions already asked here but it seems like what I need to do is the inverse of what people are usually doing.

I have the design of a space created in AutoCAD that needs to have acoustic modeling done using software that requires x, y, z coordinates as input. So basically I need to generate a point cloud and output the points into a text file.

Since it's for acoustics, I'm only interested in defining the interior spacial volume, I don't need the structure. I'm thinking I need to convert all objects into surfaces, select the surfaces that define the interior volume, and then somehow generate a point cloud with the point distribution as equal as possible on all surfaces.

Is this possible in AutoCAD? Any ideas?

Thank you so much!

The final output of the text file should look something like this:

{11.664026, -0.075409, -4.046345}
{11.538898, 0.629347, -2.397452}
{11.395275, -0.177093, -7.077434}

AutoCAD does not create/export/generate point clouds. Sorry.

Ah, that's a shame. Any suggestions on a workaround? Exporting the file into a different program perhaps?
