Are there drawbacks switching from AutoCAD to LT besides not having 3D tools?

That depends on which version.

2025Lt  is closer to full version.

Have you ha a chance to do look into it beyond this post? I'll get you started her

TLDR? here is a short quick list:

You're not going to be able to buy too much of a cheaper PC/Laptop

No Express Tools

No DATAEXTRACTION

Many of those new AutoCAD2025 block tools are missing.

No STANDARDS

No MLINE command or editing tools

No add-ons (3rd party or Autodesk)

LT only has a stripped down basic LISP ability, nothing else. So if you have LISP now you must need, you probably want to test them all, there is going to be a noticeable failure rate.

Very few Object Enablers work with LT.

No Parametric Constraints creation tools.

No 3D modelling or rendering.

No sure if you get any sort of access o Autodesk DOCS.

BUT... LT outsells AutoCAD by quite a bit, so that has got to count for something.

This is very helpful information. It's helping me to decide on putting some of my users onto LT who I think it will be sufficient for them. Thank you for the explanation!
