This has everyone in the office stumped. I'm using CAD 2014 and trying to create a standard title block for the company. In the past we have used title blocks with a Stone Sans as pictured below:
Looks nice right? But when I open the title block (it's an xref), this happens:
Where did half of the letters go? I definately have this font in my computer...

It looks like the font is correct, but the spacing needs to be fixed. It looks like your text is being truncated because the new spaced-out text is wider than your field. So, adjust the tracking and that should fix both problems.
I can't seem to find this tracking option in my ACAD as I do'nt have that floating toolbar. Sidenote: how do you get a floating toolbar?
On the Ribbon, expand the "Formatting" section to see those options.
There may be another way to get the floating toolbar, but I got it by typing RIBBONCLOSE (RIBBON will bring it back). If you don't use the Ribbon, you'll want to set up toolbars or use keyboard shortcuts.
An easy way to control the toolbar is to right click when the mtext box is active and expand editor settings. Make sure show toolbar is checked.
the setvar "MTEXTTOOLBAR" will control that. Set it to 1, and it will show up whenever you're editing MText
I normally keep it off. Most times if I need to change something other then the text I do it in the properties pallet.
You know, I accepted this as a solution, but now that I'm toying around with it I'm still having a problem. When I set the tracking to 1.00 it makes the text cut off as I had it before. However, when it is set to .99 the problem dissapears. If the text is being spaced out more, shouldn't it still display the characters, just taking up more space? When I expand the field, it still doesn't show them. Also, I only get this problem when I open the XREF. When I am viewing it in the project it is fine.
We don't use fields in our title blocks, nor are they xreffed in, so I don't really know why it is behaving the way it is. If you are able to upload a copy of your two drawings (you can delete the rest of the content in the drawings), the solution may present itself to myself or others, but without that I'm stumped. But it sounds like you have a workaround setting it to 0.99, right?
