freeze text

freeze a text in an xref file but still shows on my cut sheet. How can I freeze a text in the xref file and automatically freeze the same text on my cut sheet without having to go into my layers?

Set VISRETAIN to 0 in your cut sheets. This will cause the xref layer settings in the parent drawing to match the layer settings in the xref itself.

I though that was it. Didn't know which file to set visretain to 0. Thank you
