I'm trying to prepare a 500MB+ DWG incredibly sluggish file to try and make it useable. The file contains a lot of what appear to be elements exported from an unknown 3D software.
One of the things I'm trying is the FLATTEN command. When trying to use it there are two odd things happening:
- In about 50% of the cases, the command will throw an error: "Invalid lweight number". This happens regardless of whether I select Yes or No for Remove hidden lines.
I have no idea what this is. The only other reference to this error I was able to find was this thread, which also discusses FLATTEN command. - In cases where the FLATTEN command doesn't throw an error, it typically completely alters the appearance of the object. As in, it will either remove most of the lines, polylines, etc. so that only a fraction of them is left, or will start introducing odd objects such as circles and ellipses that tangentially touch the lines that were there before issuing the command.
Any ideas on what I can try to troubleshoot this? I'm sorry that I cannot share the file or any of its components. I understand that makes it harder to answer, but the file is not only enormous, more importantly it's a proprietary information I cannot share. I hope you understand.
