Flanges, Fittings/Custom Components missing.

Working on a project and only using a 3D Model as a reference, I opened my .dwg file one morning only to find out it had became corrupt and I was unable to see the fittings, flanges, custom components etc. The only thing that was visible was spools of pipe, connection dots for the fittings and the gasket/bolts symbols.

I had not done anything out of the ordinary to cause this to happen and this is not the first occurrence.

I dont recall a fatal error occurring when this happened. I had only swapped between two projects and when I came back to this particular model, everything went missing. Any reason why this would happen? Any input is appreciated.

Time to tap your backups from your server, and see if your BAK and any autsave SV$ have the content you want back, assuming it's not a missing XREF or something more Plant3D centric.

Is the model xrefed in? If so check to make sure the model wasn't moved from the original location (or path otherwise broke) or that the fittings etc weren't moved to a different location in the model. 

You can also see if the object enablers for what ever reason is out of date.

The model was not xref'd in. This is the 3D Model parent file that has been corrupt to my understanding.

The model was fine an hour before this occurred & I am the only one that has been working on this file.

were the piping elements created in a vertical like plant 3D? Are you editing the drawing in plant 3D?

When you saved your work did you save it to the same file version you opened it in?

I was working in the Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D 2018 application and I created the file using this same application. This is the only application I have been working in for that file. So no 3rd party software or viewing agent was used besides the Navisworks 2018 supplementary to the Autodesk suite.
