Fill background on frozen layer still showing

I have a layer turned off in the viewport for text needed on one drawing sheet but not for another.  The layer contains text with and dimensions with a background blocking for clarity in the drawing but for the viewport with this layer frozen, the block-out is showing and covering lines in the drawing.  I hope that someone can help and knows how to work around this.

did you use wipe outs or background masks?

The difference between he two could be causing the problem.

Thank you.  I was out for two days sick but back now.  I attached the cleaned file.  It seems odd to me why dimension text background would show if the dim layer is turned off. (98-DimensionsBasement)

Not seeing any issues here either in your posted file

Thank you for checking.  So then my question is about what dsiplay / print setting I may need to adjust so that this isn't happening for me.    Any idea??

All I did was open your file, turn off that 'notes' layer and grab a screenshot. I changed nothing else.

Perhaps your AutoCAD is not fully updated, or you need to turn off hardware acceleration? Or when you cleaned up this file for us, you removed the problem already.

Ah, that's not the correct paperspace.  I looked more closely at your screenshot.  It's 4-3-1 where none of those pink dimensions should be shown (98-DimensionsBasement).  Also, on screen, things look okay but print preview and printing block out the walls, hatch, other dim lines...

The plan and paperspace that I'm having issue with is the set-up where those notes and exterior strings of dimensions are not on.  Most of them are not the issue.  You're showing the layout 4-2-1.

Umm, no

What other excuses do you have 😉

Why don't you post a DWG file ready to use/open where you want everyone to test so they only have to PLOT to PDF and go this next time instead of presenting more and more "gotcha" replies.

And what novel use of layouts you got there: why are you not using viewports into modelspace instead of copy/pasting blocks? You might just have a DRAWORDER issue more than anything, hard to tell, you keep moving the goal-posts every time I try to understand the issue.

I'm sorry, I really don't understand.  I'm not trying to write anything sarcastically.  I'm showing you what I have on my end.  The drawing should show no exterior dimensions which is what I said that I think you were studying the other layout.  So I still don't understand what you mean.   I don't know what your screenshot means.  On your comments which ARE less than polite, I have to follow office protocol on how things are drawn and set up.

I'm not having the problem either.

When the blocked out parts show up is that print preview or is that a PDF?

If you change PDF printers does it change?

When you get a chance please repost a modified DWG file ready to use/open where you want everyone to test so they only have to PLOT to PDF, have it preset the way you experience the problems for you on your PC. Make sure no one here has to guess at which layout to use or how to set the layers etc.

Also include your custom plotstyle table: are you familiar with using ETRANSMIT command?

AND please post screenshots of your ABOUT and GRAPHICSCONFIG command.

TIA

Hello!   It is both in preview and PDF.  I will try playing with different print settings / cad settings and actual print too.  It seems really strange to me.

Thank you, I will provide these factors and data in the morning but also the file that I uploaded was saved to the layout in question.  I'll do other research if possible in the meantime.

As noted by everyone touching your posted file with frozen-in-viewport-layers (aka nothing is OFF, off is not frozen), we seem unable to recreate your issue in preview or PDF output. Sorry.

Yeah, I'll need to look into print display settings and whatnot.  I've not had this issue before in 23 years of using Acad.  I do know that Frozen and Off are different but didn't see this as pertinent in distinguishing when having the issue of the background blocking out my drawing.  Regarding the plotstyle, this company has no plotstyle!!   No pen-settings set up to correlate to colors or otherwise.
