Crash after opening any drawing. Happens within 2-10 minutes after drawing is open and doing normall operation such as zooming in and out, drawing a line , etc.. But most of the time, can make it crash by zooming in and out.

Tried the following already:

-Unistall 2015LT and installed 2013 , same problem,

-Unistalled 2015lt, including .NET files and C++, and then re-installed, same problem

-Updated my video card driver

-disabled hardware acceleation

nothing will fix this problem.

Also, some error messages I found on windows logs. Not sure if they are related to the root cause of the problem or just a consequence of the crash.

When installing autocad, I got no error message dialogs.

I am experiencing the same kind of errors, but my users' case are related with havind AutoCAD 2015, and trying to user Autodesk Vault Professional 2013. Are they compatible?

I am also getting this error now. I believe it started after recent windows updates. I'm only getting it when i click on certain objects. Ive been working around it by pointing auto cad config file to use older framework but this is causing me the same issue with different blocks. so depending on what im working on in cad I modify the config file before launching.

Can you elaborate more on your work-around? I have not noticed any pattern with this error, other than popping up every ten minutes or so.

Not sure if you tried it yet, but since the faulting app is he wscommctr tool, you can turn that off or uninstall it, restart Windows, and AutoCAD should work just fine without it.

Windows System Restore would be a great tool to remove updates or add-ons if you suspect that as being the culprit instead.

I did try to turn infocenter off in the registry and made sure wscommcrt wasn't running.  But this had no impact as the problem continued.

Unfortunately I did not have system restore turned on when this started happening...

Wow, your memory flush does not recognize your current operating system, but also fails a temp memory draw. Two problems going on here.

You need to make sure your AutoCAD supports your system, make sure you have enough computer memory, make sure you have the most recent update on your operating system, and if you have virus / system protection software make sure to Authorize AutoCAD. Finally, reinstall AutoCAD.

I typed out a huge explanation / walk through and when i hit submit the forum gave me some mismatched ID error and its all gone. My fault for not writing it somewhere secure then copy and pasting it here. bummer.

" Wow, your memory flush does not recognize your current operating system, but also fails a temp memory draw."

How did you get to this conclusion? Where did you look to notice this problem?

Thanks!

OK. Something finally seems to have fixed the problem. I started to noticed that Autocad crashed when an objected was selected or mouse had roll over it.

After setting "ROLLOVERTIPS" parameter to off (0) the autocad ran just fine.  Since the fix my installation has been running for 2 days  without a hiccup, as opposed to getting a crash within minutes of opening a drawing and working.

That also happens to me every couple of days. I just save like crazy. My Autosave is 5 minutes & I save eveery few commands.  It's just unstable software- Auto Cad has ALWAYS crashed unexpectedly- it just has. I suppose it always will. I agree it's ridiculous- just hope you don't lose much work. PS It's always easier to draw it the second time!

This has not been my 18 year experience with Autocad. When it crashes regularly there is always a way to fix it. While it's some times hard to figure out the fix is almost never complicated. 9 times out of 10 it's because of .net framework or graphic card incompatibility.

Thanks for the reply & woo hoo if you're not crashing every so often, you're the luckiest man on the Earth! You need to play the lottery! I've worked for large companies, small companies, on my own, & on a broad variety of work stations. The common demoninator? ACAD crashes unexpectedly- I'm not saying a lot, just every so often- but any crash usually results in at least a small amount of rework & is just a hassle. Also- how does Auto Desk plan the crashes at the absolute WORST times! (ie massive deadline.... CRASH) It's jusy my opinion, based on years of evidence, Auto CAD is going to crash! Save, save, save!

Abismal at best.

Install Autocad DWG Viewer 2017 yesterday, open the same drawing numerous times. With-in 10 min, ACAD crashes and Win7 PC reboots all by its own self.

This a frigging joke right?? This is a mere "viewer" meaning ALL I want to do is look at the drawing, maybe print it and autocad crashes?? Seriously??

JUNK JUNKJUNK JUNK JUNK......MORE JUNK...JUNK<JUNK<JUNK

Not only that, just installing this behemouth of a viewer was a 20 min proccess. Another JOKE I guess? More MS dot Net crap too.

So for that last 2 days, my PC has crashed 4 times, and I still havn't managed to print the drawing I need.

Pathetic!!

Hi gilhoerbiger, Looking at these errors tells me that the user might not have the proper permissions. Try running as Local Administrator to see if the problem presents itself.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Auto CAD! If you're crashing every ten minutes, there's an issue! As I was saying, Auto CAD crashes from time to time- it just does. the best advice is set your save time to 3 minutes or so- I go with 5 minutes. When it crashes (it will) you've only lost a little work and it's easier the second time.

Auto CAD is a pain in the on a variety of fronts- the best we can hope for is that they go away and new software eventually takes over, or perhaps new controlling owners that care about paying (it's not exactly cheap) customers and stable software!!!!!
