Fatal Error Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0080 Exception at d4591161h

Hello,

Hoping someone can help out please...

Using AutoCAD 2017 - one User is regularly receiving a fatal error message:

Fatal Error Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0080 Exception at d4591161h

Fatal error last occurred during a copy and paste command from one .dwg file to another.

User is unsure if it's the same command they use when AutoCAD crashes each time.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks...................Phil

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Please tell me what is unique about this user. Is the workstation hardware and OS different from other users? Is the AutoCAD (exact version?) up to date?

If another user logs onto this user's computer does the problem continue?

I suggest:

  • verify that all OS updates are applied
  • verify that all hotfixes and updates are installed for AutoCAD
  • verify that a current video card driver is installed
  • consider a Reset Settings to Default

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hey John,

Thanks for the welcome and your response 🙂

There's nothing unique about the User, other than a 3rd leg and the 8 fingers per hand. Kidding.

User has same machine, hardware set-up, OS etc as other Users.

Haven't tried logging on to the User's machine - it'll happen maybe 1,2 or 3 times over a 40hr week so it's not a continual constant problem.

Just happens occasionally but pretty much at least once per week. User doesn't have many files open at any one time, either.

I'll check with the other Admin's to see if hotfixes/updates have been applied.

And then maybe a Reset Settings to default.

Thanks again for your help John.

Cheers.................Phil

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the response and the information about your slightly unique and morphed user.

Please post back with your results from IT and the Reset.

Hey John (and anyone else),

Looks like the problem may have been to do with the graphics driver.

Trond Hasse Lie (Autodesk expert) advised and sent a link to a more recent and up-to-date graphics driver.

Installed said driver and so far, so good.

User has reported no further abnormal exit issues.

Thanks to John and Trond for all your help Smiley Happy

Cheers...................Phil
