Fatal Error message

Hi, I've received this "Fatal Error" message with different combinations of the "Unhandled" and "Exception"  for a couple of different models doing a couple of different functions.  The first time happened while trying to run a thermal model, and was fixed by moving back a version of the model and restarting.  This time it's happening because I'm trying to open another mesh to map data onto.

I've tried several different versions of the model- the original, one that was the backup file that hadn't been updated for several days before that, and one that was preserved in a ZIP file.  Each time I run, I get a different combination of the two numbers listed on the error.

I'm running AutoCAD 2013, SP2.  Everything I've searched online for this error returns a different solution.  I've been running this software (though possibly previous versions) for 3 years now and haven't run into this error until the past couple of weeks.  No one else in my group at work that runs this software routinely has seen this.  Is there a root cause for this?

Thanks!

Also- I have CER numbers for some of the reports I've sent, but I can't find a place to submit them.  If needed and a link to where I submit them is provided, I can send that in.

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I would be happy to help you out with this issue.

Let's start with the CER report, when you the dialog box to send the report you are able to add a description and then send the report. Is there another prompt saying unable to send CER report?

Hopefully that works.

I have a few questions for you;

  • Would you be able to share some of the files having this issue? I can open a Box folder for you to upload your files just let me know?
  • Can you provide a Systems Information File (NFO)
  • For these drawings are you the original drafter who created these?
  • Are they saved locally or to a network?

Let me know if you have any questions for me.

Thanks, Happy Posting

Hi!

The reports all sent, I just don't know where to follow up with them.  Here are a couple of the CER numbers I kept note of:

  • CER_128239612

  • CER_128240490

  • CER_128241242

I don't think I'd be able to send the drawing  files.  I can check, though.  I think the NFO I'd be able to send, though.  Just let me know where the best place to send that would be. I am the original drafter for the files and they are saved locally to my machine.

Thank you!

OK great thanks for providing those numbers let me look into that for you.

I went ahead and created a folder for you to upload the documents I requested. This is a private folder and will only be seen by myself. If you do not want to post your files publicly we wont.

If you can upload your files ( this will give me a better idea of what you are experiencing when working in AutoCAD) and the NFO would be great. Please look for my email invitation.

I will circle back to you with any new findings.

Thanks!

I've been in contact with the thermal software company as well (it's an add-in to autocad), and they've suggested a patch on their software that gave me a more detailed error message.  I think for the moment, the issue is solved.  (I was trying to map to a NASTRAN file, but the file did not include it's own coordinate system.  The patch alerted me to the missing coordinate system.)

Unless I run into this again soon, I think this is solved/closed as far as I'm concerned.

Thank you for the help!  I appreciate your timely responses.

Feel free to respond back if the issue occurs again. I will just go ahead and mark your post with the provided information and update as the Accepted Solution.

I'm glad you are able to run AutoCAD with no issue.

Have a good day. Smiley Happy

Hi, I will post it here.

ACAD2016, union solids, undo

When I join solids into one piece (command: union, 2 pieces or more together) and after that if I use undo command, similar Fatal Error message shows. If whole document contains few items (solids) then this is OK, but when I need to make one item out of multiple small ones, then this message is shown every time. If I need to undo union.
