Extending multiple lines not working

Hello,

In my current drawings I am having a minor but slightly annoying problem in that I cannot extend multiple lines to a boundary line by lassoing the lines. ACAD forces me to do them singly. I thought it may be something to do with working a in local UCS and view (I'm drawing elevations referencing pointcloud) but the method works as normal for trimming lines. Anyone know why this might be?

In addition I find I am constantly having to Flatten the drawing to get either trim/extend tools to work in properly. I constantly get messages about lines not intersecting boundaries etc, even though when I check them they are all on the same plane.

Hi,

as you can see from below image ... finally worked . after correcting your UCS to world and with plan . i discover that your drawing is too far from 0,0,0  [ 565000 ] . i move all CAD dwg elements near to 0,0,0 . i extend all lines with Project ( View) option under  EXTEND command and it's worked  ( see attache CAD dwg file ).

SO it's a location problem in AutoCAD to 0,0,0 !!!!

hope it's work also with you ...  🙂

Interesting. So basically AutoCAD 2017 can't handle the computations in those coordinates. That won't be the first time any kind of CAD program has trouble in that regard. Unfortunately the pointcloud survey is in real-world coordinates so the building elevation has to be drawn where it is.

And in that case there's no real solution for me other than upgrading my plugin software and working in a later version of AutoCAD, and that will have to wait.

Many thanks for your efforts in figuring out the problem.

I can't seem to access that update either through my account or through the knowledge base.

Since you have limited access per your words, your company's account manager may need to get that for you.
