Export DXF to Single Layer

Another software I use requires single-layer dxf files, and AutoCAD defaults to 2 layers (0 and Defpoints) and does not seem to have a simple workaround. How can I get a single layer with only the drawing features as a DXF? I have access to Inventor if I need it or its tools.

New to AutoCAD by chance?
Look up (in HELP) then use LAYMRG command in AutoCAD first, QSAVE, then export/create your DXF file.

I have tried that, but it throws an error saying "No layers were found that can be deleted." I have attached the file I'm working with.

Thanks for the file: you cannot remove or merge the DEFPOINTS layer if you need to dimensions to remain.

I do not need the dimensions as a visible feature, but I do need the size of the part to remain constant after export. Will removing dimensions and the defpoint layer affect any of that?

Indeed. Try it if the attached is not what you need.

I don't know if this was answered. The answer is no.
