Everything thinks it's on the current layer

Something changed today. When I click on something, the 3 places that show the layer shows that it is on the current layer. That is in the LAYER, the Layer Control, and the Layer Properties Manager, all show that the object is on the Current  Layer.

What I am trying to do is change the object to another layer. But as soon as I click on another layer, that layer becomes the current layer.

The only place that knows the current layer in sin the Properties.

Has something changed with the Mouse's selection ?

It sounds you are selecting more than the current limit of RIBBONCONTEXTSELLIM,

so it isn't showing object-properties, but the current setting in your drawing (the same while no objects selected)

Note: Also properties palette has a limit! PROPOBJLIMIT

Thanks for your quick reply.

I don't quite know what to do if the limits have been reached.

Also, the project its a 5,000 s.f. building with the 4 elevations.

So, I don't know how the limits might have been reached.

As a side note: When I double click on some text to edit it, nothing happens

I hade to type "ed" in order to edit text. This also became a problem this afternoon.

If you select one line, take a look to the properties palette, what is selected, tell us the first line where the object type and count is visible (or share a screenshot).

Limits: Set both limits to 32000.

The A-RGUT-NEW (new gutter) layer is Current and is listed as such in the Layer Properties Manager display, and in the Layer Control display and in the Layer display at  to of the screen.

On the screen, I have picked a line that is on the A-ROOF layer which is Blue.

Normally, both the Layer Control and the Layer displays would  show the A-ROOF layer as the layer of the object picked.

To change that object to another layer, I would find that layer in the Layer Control and pick it. It then would move the object to that layer.

Doesn't work that way today.

File is attached

@cliffordjohnturner There is no A-RGUT-NEW layer in the file you posted

you also have layer 0 not turned on/thawed inside the viewport which can cause a lot of issues (and may solve your issue?

I see A-RGUT-NEW right above A-ROOF in the 2nd view sent.

Thanks for pointing out that Layer-0 is Viewport Frozen.

I don't know why I would have done that.
