Error when saving AutoCAD files

Hi @Anonymous,

Are you trying to do a simple Save with this drawing? Which exact version of AutoCAD are you using (Type ABOUT)? Do you have any plug-ins?

To make sure you don't lose your data try to save  or Export to a different format such as a DXF. Once you have done that can you share the file with me? Did it originate in AutoCAD?

If you can't export to another format can you also try an -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD?

I had a similar problem but my file was on a server? Is yours saved on your computer or cloud?

Here is Autodesk's KB article on this error. Unfortunately, it is a broad error and could mean a lot of things. The "solutions" offered in this article if followed, could take a long time to do. This is common with Civil 3D if you try to save a drawing that was last saved in a newer version. Of course you might not even know the origin of the drawing, but by displaying this error, Autodesk is putting the burden of responsibility on you, instead of the application simply providing a remedy. Work with @john.vellek in this thread, he will be of great assistance.

I can not register I have never save

sometimes I do not save sometimes as an example I did not save yesterday today saved

I do not have any extensions I am using version 2016 and I am a user for saving a simple drawing but I can not use it as an example I could not save yesterday I saved it today but I can not save again

Hi @Anonymous,

Please tell me where you are saving your drawing files.  Can you save to a new folder on the desktop?  Is it all files or just specific ones?

If you logon as a new user, can you then save files from AutoCAD?  If you try to save files from other applications are you able to do so?

What is your OS (winver)?  Please also tell =me about your version of AutoCAD (ABOUT).
