Enhanced Attribute Editor Issue

Advisor

AutoCAD 2013, Windows 7

I successfully got Attribute Editor to work across multiple Paperspace layouts by creating attribute blocks. I change information on my cover page, and the information transfers to the other pages accordingly.

The issue is I can get Attribute Editor to work across multiple Paperspace layouts, but not Enhanced Attribute Editor.

How can I set my Enhanced Attribute Editor to transfer information to all my other layouts also? So weird I can get Attribute Editor to work, but not Enhanced Attribute Editor.

I like how this issue has come across the forums multiple times, and has been ignored for almost three years with no answer. If you called service years ago like I did, AutoDESK told me the issue was under review and they couldn't even give me a solution to the problem. Years later, no solution, gotta love service. Explain more please: how you did it in one for example, and a sample DWG with a working block too.

@pendean Thank you for the response.

The issue with this is I'm not allowed to share the master template. I'll have to create a mini sample from scratch and get back to you.

Unless I'm missing something... An MTEXT will not behave like an attribute in a block: it does not matter which command you use. You are comparing apples to bananas 🙂

Any reason you cannot continue to use MTEXT? Your need seems to be suited for it, change one instance and all the other instances duplicate.

If you want to edit an attribute's entry then have all the other instances of that block to follow you probably ought to post in the customization forums for a lisp tool to help.

The sample that worked for me, I continued using MTEXT, I just used it in block form because the MTEXT copies won't change together unless turned into a block.

On top of that, I can't get Enhanced Attribute Editor to work with MTEXT.

Is Enhanced Attribute Editor suppose to work on attribute editor or MTEXT?

The Enhanced Attribute Editor is not a TEXT or MTEXT editor: it's only an attribute editor.

BEDIT and REFEDIT commands seems to handle editing your block just fine, as would any command you used in R2000 back in the day.

WOOOOOT! OMG, you are awesome.  @pendean <----- Needs an award.

Just look at my sample, and AutoDESK couldn't even help me with this 10 years ago.

What kind of improvements do you want to do?

On a side note, this is a title-block, correct? Any reason it's not XREFed instead of being inside the file? Or is a project consist of only one DWG file for you (in which case inserting in the one file makes sense).

Probably should be XREFed, thanks for the suggestion.
