Effective Screen Captures

Effective Screen Captures

I have a question I'd like to ask the forum. Even though I am not sure this is the right forum, I suspect someone here knows the answer.

I am new to Autodesk but have used their 123D product to create a 3D model that includes many separately made objects. I would like to now screen capture the model.

Here's the deal: If I am using "3D rotate" or other similar viewing tool to manipulate the onscreen image, the little black lines that separate one object from another disappear -- giving me a very clean look.

BUT, when I stop manipulating the image, the little black lines re-appear making any screen capture look bad.

How do I remove those lines??

I see screen captures by many people that do not have these lines...How do they do it??

Thanks in advance for any help !!

*** I have attached an image that shows the distinction I am talking about.

Not familiar with 123D, but I would suggest looking into Occluded edges and/or iso lines...

Hi @Anonymous,

@Darin.Green has a good suggestion. Check the current Visual Style that is applied and then turn off the Edge Settings and the Silhouette Edges. I think this should do the trick.

Thank you for the replies.

Unfortunately, it appears that Autodesk 123D software has none of those options.

So I am at a loss..

I thank you all for the suggestions. I just found the solution.

As much as I looked, I simply did not notice a option that allowed for "Materials and Outlines" or "Outlines Only", or "Materials Only".

That was the ticket. Now the screen grabs are perfect. Very nice product --> Autodesk.

Again, thanks!!
