Hi. I'm using edgesurf to create a parts of a boat hull. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! It says the edges are not touching despite the fact that they are. The attached dwg is driving me mad!

Can anyone help?

Hi,

you might try command _SURFNETWORK instead.

Also the LOFT command (2 opposite section lines, 2 Guides) works well.

I believe the issue is that these are 2D Polylines and don't exactly contain and values for Z. They have an elevation, but that appears to not be what the edge surf command wants.

I was able to convert your 2D Polyline to Splines using SPLINEEDIT.

All you have to do is invoke the command and select the object and it converts it, then just exit the command.

After than they have a Z value and EDGESURF seems to work fine.

EDGESURF will also work if you use 3DPolylines instead of the 2DPolylines.
