Dynamic text problem

Hello,

I type in MTEXT command to create a mtext, with a specific space. When I hit enter, most of the time it would instead of going underneath the first line of text, it would automatically create a dynamic column and place the text in the other column. I don't want a dynamic column, I know I can go to property to change it but it is pain. Is there a way I can eliminate this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Al

Hi 1629853,

Which version of AutoCAD are you using? In AutoCAD 2017 when I start the Mtext editor, I can go to the Columns icon, click the down arrow and select Static or No Columns. Is this how your are doing your workflow?

Please give me the steps you are using to create the text and I will try to assist you.

Hello John,

I am using AutoCAD 2015.

1. Mtext

2. Start typing.

3. Add bullet.

4. Start typing again then it happen.

The problem is it doesn't always happen, pop up ocassionally. Not sure how or how to turn it off for the entire drawing.

Regards,

Hi Al,

Are you seeing this issue only with text that is already formatted in columns, where you need to maintain the column formatting?

If not, you could set MTEXTCOLUMN to 0 to turn off columns altogether. You can also do this through the Ribbon as below -

Thanks!
