Dynamic input not switching dimensions with tab key

Hi, I recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2023 to AutoCAD 2024 and my functionality using Dynamic Input no longer allows me to press the tab key to switch dimensions. I have dynamic input enabled and DYNMODE is set to 3. I have tried other DYNMODE variables and those do not allow me to use TAB either. It works if I use the comma to switch dimensions but I want to use the tab key, using the comma hides object dimensions and defeats the purpose. It does not appear that this functionality has been removed, as the Dimension Input Settings dialog box still has a light bulb saying to "Press TAB to switch to the next dimension input field".

What am I missing here?

Nothing about that has changed between 2023 nd 2024: can you share a video of you doing this action so we can follow along?
Or did you pick up a new laptop or keyboard by chance too?

Nothing has changed for me as far as my keyboard and mouse setup.

No changes on the hardware side. Attached is a video, at approximately 20 seconds is when I was hitting tab and the field was not changing. Then when I use the comma after entering my dimension I am able to enter the second dimension.

Here is a video link as well if you are more comfortable.

Test in a profile that does not have CADWORX running, see if your issue goes away.

You might also want to test with the variable GFXDX12 turned off too (a program restart is required for it to take effect).

I already have GFXDX12 set to 0. Running it without CADWorx does indeed fix it, I assume I have to take it up with Hexagon at this point. Thank you for your help!

Hi there, I have opened a ticket with Hexagon regarding this. In short, they told me "oh sorry, there is no solution. We will work on fixing this in CADWorx 2025."

Here are the details for my case:

Dev Item Number 4539325
Planned Release CADWorx Plant Design Suite 25
External State In Development
Planned Release Date 2025-08-01
Severity 3 - Medium
Implemented Version 25.00.00.0158

Very disappointing.
