Dynamic Fastener Blocks for Paper Space

We use a lot of downloaded 3d hardware models from McMaster in our assembly drawings.  As helpful as they can be, we find that they often corrupt our drawings, especially the view base views in paper space, not to mention how they slow the drawing down due the number of faces with which they are modeled.  I'd like to try replacing all of the 3d fasteners with 2d blocks in paper space, but I'm having trouble finding what I  need.

The right block would:

- be scale-able to match the scale of the drawing view

- be adjustable for fastener diameter, length, pitch and, if possible, type.

Have options for nuts and washers.

So far I've only found blocks for those who create their drawing views with Viewports and these don't have the ability to match the drawing scale.  Does any one have suggestions on where to look for such a thin?

I'm not quite understanding how that would accomplish the goal.  Wouldn't I need to do this every time I used a new bolt size? What I'm looking for is a dynamic 2D block that would allow me to specify bolt parameters, like 1/2"-13 x 2" at 1/4" = 1'-0" scale, without having to do anything in 3d. Or am I just missing something with this article?

Yes.

Your other choices are:
1) start creating your own 2D Dynamic blocks from scratch. There are no built in tools to do what you seek in any automated way.
2) Websearch a 2D library/Catalog to purchase if one from a manufacturer does not exist (while you wait around here for recommendations if any).
