Can someone tell me if there is a text or dxf variable that i can change to prevent the below image (attachment) from happening? my laptop was a straight replacement as my old one dies suddenly, so my commands and files didn't transfer over to my new laptop. basically it was a brand new install vs a transfer. my thought is that a "variable" was set on my old laptop that i have since lost. im using AutoCAD 2019

Hi and Welcome to AutoCAD Forum,

i think that you may need to check if there is a lost font that your text style need.

Regards.

@m552471  hi,

if you set CANNOSCALE to 1:1, does it go away?

Pictures only show symptoms: how abut posting your DWG/DXF file with the problem instead.

our annotation uses Arial Narrow size 6. when the dxfout command is prompted, the file looks and appears to be normal in autocad. when that same file is imported into a JDA application (floor planning) the JDA program doesn't support arial narrow and converts it into simplex. thats not the problem. the problem is it throws all the text in the lower left hand corner. it never done this before until i received my new laptop. thats why i feel its an AutoCAD variable. we have other laptops in the office that have not been replaced and the command works fine especially when importing into the other program.

if I may ask: why not use SIMPLEX in your drawing and control the location/appearance, does that change the behavior in the other program?
